Shaheen & Gordon Internship Day Two

Tuesday; April 30, 2019

Hours - 9:00-4:00

Today, I woke up a little later than yesterday because Jim informed me we would be spending the day at the office. After getting ready, I drove to Concord and arrived a little later at the firm, at 9:30, as Jim was arriving. Upon arrival, Jim and I went to a bagel restaurant and sat and ate. Not too much occurred after that, we spent the morning and early afternoon in the office talking on the phone with clients and scheduling. The firm is awaiting a judge ruling on a big case which is either sending a case to trial or the motion requested by the defense is won and it’s over. We ate lunch at around 2:00 and I had a chicken caesar wrap. Tomorrow we are going back to the Merrimack County Court to defend a man arrested with a pound of marijuana charged with intent to distribute.

Shaheen & Gordon Internship Day One

Monday; April 29, 2019

Hours - 8:30-3:30;

My day began at 6:00 A.M this morning with a cup of coffee. Getting ready for the day, I put on a suit and tie and prepared for a day in court with attorney at law, Jim Rosenberg. I commuted to Concord and met Jim at 8:30 at Probate court off of Hazen Drive. When I got there I discovered another senior from Concord High School was also shadowing him for the day. In Probate court, Jim and two other lawyers from their firm were arguing a motion to dismiss a case. More information on the case is here using this link; http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/01/nathan-carman-linda-carman-death-at-sea.html. We were in that court from 9:00 until 1:00 and then we travelled back to the Shaheen and Gordon office and ate lunch. Following lunch, we went to Merrimack district court and heard another case involving a discovery issue with an alleged rapist. Finally, we sat in the office while Jim took a few business calls.
